Our founder, Maurizio Grande, grew up with the authentic gelato experience found only in Italy. Maurizio found great pleasure in enjoying a scoop of gelato in a friendly gelateria or cafe. It became his passion to bring this Italian tradition to the rest of the world. (after all, Mondo does mean "World").

Maurizio set out to find the best gelato artisan in Italy. Enter Salvatore Russo, a master artigianale (craftsman) with a premium gelateria in the heart of Rome. Using a secret Sicilian recipe, Salvatore brought to life the many irresistible flavours of Mondo Gelato.
